ACCEDE Updates

Choose Image Size in Notification Reports (enhancement update Control Centre 4.0.12s)

ACCEDE Enhancement Update – Control Centre 4.0.12s includes a new feature to choose image size in notification reports

One of our favourite clients recently contacted Wicketworks with an ACCEDE enhancement request to be able to choose image size displayed in notification reports. We thought this was a great idea and would benefit other ACCEDE users.

Scheduled Tasks are the mechanism by which ACCEDE sends automated emails to selected parties. For example, you may have set up a Scheduled Task to run at 7 pm each night advising subcontractors of newly created defect/snag items. Some of these notification reports contain thumbnail images.

Now, when setting up the scheduled task, you have control over the size of these images. Use the Image Size drop down to choose between small, medium and large images…

To give you an idea of the images sizes, here is a notification report with small images…

And here is the same report with large images…

View user access details (enhancement update Control Centre 4.0.12s)

ACCEDE Enhancement Update – Control Centre 4.0.12s includes a new feature to view user access details.

One of our users recently contacted Wicketworks with an ACCEDE enhancement request to be able to monitor when her project’s users were logging on to the Control Centre. We thought being able to view user access details was a great idea and would benefit other ACCEDE users. Whenever an ACCEDE user log on to the Control Centre, a log is kept detailing user ID, log in time, log out time, etc.  The data in this log is now available to project administrators for review. To access the log, click Admin, then User Access Log…

The log shows access detail like this…

Click the Refresh button to update the list. Also, if you are interested in a particular user’s history, enter his user ID in the User Name text box. Remember, you can always see who is currently logged on to the current project via Admin/Current Project Users…

Customise email subject and body (enhancement Control Centre 4.0.12r)

ACCEDE Enhancement Update – Control Centre version 4.0.12r incorporates a new feature to customise email subject and body in automated communications

Scheduled Tasks are the mechanism by which ACCEDE sends automated emails to selected parties. For example, you may have set up a Scheduled Task to run at 7 pm each night advising subcontractors of newly created defect/snag items.

You now have the ability to specify email subject and body on each individual scheduled task.

In the example above, you could specify a subject of…

Defect Notification from BPC, Northbank Development

…and perhaps an email body like…

This is a notice given under clause x.x of the Contract notifying you of the defects which are attached to this email (Defects).

Pursuant to clause x.x of the Contract, you are instructed to commence works to rectify the Defects and complete by close of business three business days from the date of this notification.

Should you fail to rectify the Defects within the specified time frame,  BPC reserves its rights under clause x.x of the Contract to engage a third-party to rectify the Defects, the costs of which will be back charged to you or deducted from security or retention money held by BPC

Open the Admin/Scheduled Task screen, and note these two new fields…

Email subject and body fields are new to the Scheduled Task screen

Email Subject has a limit of 254 characters, however Email Body is unlimited in length.

Note that when the email is sent, the subject you have defined on this screen will be suffixed with the subcontractor’s name. This is to make it easier to identify emails in your email log.  Like this…

Mods to email subject and body functionality allows subcontractor name to be viewed in email log

The existing email subject/body defined on the Project screen will serve as a default when sending ad hoc reports from the report manager.

We suggest you make it something generic like this…

Default email subject and body for ad-hoc reports

Testing the UK quality market

As a customer-focused business, everything we do at ACCEDE is aimed at ensuring our end-users are happy with our system. This worked very well for us when we launched in Australia, and many existing customers ‘down under’ have been happy to endorse our system. However, we are facing a couple of new challenges in launching ACCEDE in the UK.

Want to test ACCEDE on a pilot project?

A successful track record in Australia counts for little when prospects want to know about its use in the UK market. So, we are talking to some early potential customers about free use of the ACCEDE system for a single test project. If you are interested in this, all we ask in return is for your permission to interview you about your experience of using ACCEDE and for us to write a case study based on your experience.

There is no risk. All data entered into ACCEDE remains yours and if you decide not to continue at any point we will provide all data to you in your preferred format (Excel or PDF, for example). We will install ACCEDE on your tablet devices (iPad or Windows tablet/PCs) and provide training (although it is very intuitive to use). The system will be fully featured just as it would be for a paying customer and because it is cloud-based, it will be quite separate from your existing IT systems.

ACCEDE - Snagging on a tablet deviceWhat do snaggers want?

Entering a new geographical market makes you ask some basic questions. Mobile applications on smartphones and tablets are increasingly widespread on construction sites, but when it comes to defects management, what do end-users really want?

As a customer-focused technology provider, we want to know what you require from mobile snagging and quality applications. So we have devised a short online survey looking at mobile quality control systems. The survey will take around three minutes to complete and as an incentive one respondent will be picked at random to receive a free Apple iPad Mini. Click here to complete the survey. We will be sharing the results from the survey in a future blog post.

Survey now closed – findings coming soon.

New defect item attributes and data download (enhancement Control Centre 4.0.12a)

ACCEDE Enhancement Update – defect item attributes and data dump now available in ACCEDE Control Centre v4.0.12a.

New features in this update…

1.  New punch list/snag list item attributes

Two new defect item attributes have been added to the punch list/snag list item: Drawing Ref and Percent Complete.

Drawing Ref is a free-format 20-character field where you can record details of the drawing/revision related to this punchlist item

Percent Complete may be used to record the status of an item that is not yet closed, but has progressed. For ease of data entry, you may choose a value from the drop-down list, or enter a specific value.

They appear in the Control Centre screen here…

Both new fields also appear on the ACCEDE Agent punchlist/snaglist screen.

Percent Complete is able to be updated from the Close Out screen in ACCEDE Agent. You may either choose a percentage from the list, or enter your own value using the keyboard …

Select percent complete from list or enter manually

2.  Request Data Download

A new option has been added to the Admin menu – Request Download…

data_download_1

This feature may be used to request an XLS dump of your punch list/snag list and checklist data. Also available are your image and attachment files. This function may be used to serve as ad-hoc data backup, or for archival purposes at end of project. Due to the potential large size of data transfers involved, it is not intended for this feature to be used on a regular basis.

Click the relevant button to request the required data to be prepared for download. Note that, depending on the volume of your data, this process may take several minutes.

data-download_2

When the data is ready to be downloaded, click the link shown on the screen to commence the usual download procedure in your browser…

data_download_3

Once prepared, your files will be available for download for the next one hour.
